About us

At The Veil, we believe marriage is a holy and beautiful covenant—a reflection of God's love. Our venue was created to be a gathering place for friends, family, and strangers to unite under the love and truth of Christ.

As a Christian venue, we rent exclusively to members who align with our gospel focused statement of faith. Members are welcome to invite any unbelieving friends or family to share in the member's celebration and witness God's love. If you're not yet a member, we invite you to explore the membership agreement. To those interested in exploring faith in Christ, please reach out!

Our Story

Eric and Karen Jefferies - Wedding Venue Owners

Hello! We are Eric and Karen, owners of The Veil. Thank you for your interest in the big things God  is doing in this beautiful little corner of the world! We have 8 wonderful children, 2 bright-eyed grandchildren, and have used our home for many years to care for amazing people who need assistance with disabilities. Having been married 29 years, we've come to appreciate that an enduring and growing love eventually requires that the fading nature of cake, flowers and sparklers, at times, be surpassed by mutual patience, forgiveness and humility.

The Veil was born out of a prayer about how to repurpose this historic property. We have a vision for providing a perfect launchpad for marriages, AND as a resource for blessing couples as they navigate life into the future.  The Veil also blends perfectly with the attached and recently transformed InnMates B&B located in the former cellar of this historic courthouse and jail. Our Pastor and others have walked over the property, praying for this endeavor, ensuring that this is more than just a natural undertaking! For where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom! II Corinthians 3:17

While The Veil can be home to a variety of celebrations and ministry functions, weddings are the cornerstone.  Besides our covenant to follow Christ, marriage is the BIGGEST commitment we ever make. The Veil and staff are keen to provide an atmosphere that reflects the spiritual significance of that decision while being sensitive to your preferences and vision.

Marriage is God's primary instrument to show the world His love for His bride, the Church, and to create and raise the next generation of His children. Talk about an epic opportunity and responsibility!

The Veil has been solely designed to provide you with an amazingly memorable start, and to be a future safe place to seek any needed resources over the years, so that your love story can successfully grow through life's inevitable ups and downs.

Seeing this vision become a reality is a constant reminder that we owe A LOT of gratitude to the loving sacrifices of several godly brothers and sisters in Christ...

Olivia Brower - Venue Manager

Hi! I’m Olivia! I have the privilege of managing The Veil and serving as the main point of connection between our couples and the venue. From the first tour to the final walkthrough, my role is to ensure everything on our end is clear, well-coordinated, and thoughtfully prepared so you can walk into your wedding day with peace, confidence, and joy!

Over the years, I’ve grown a deep appreciation for creating spaces where love, faith, and aesthetics come together.

What matters most to me isn’t just how the day looks, but what it points to—a holy covenant before God, the joining of two lives into one, and the start of a lifelong testimony to Christ’s love and faithfulness. Whether I’m touring you through our venue, talking about the details of the day, or making sure your event runs smoothly behind the scenes, my heart is to serve with care and intention.

Before stepping into this role, I spent several years in full-time ministry, where I developed a passion for discipleship and walking with young women through seasons of spiritual growth, healing, and identity in Christ. That same desire carries into my work now—helping create a space where couples feel supported, encouraged, and at home.

I was born and raised in West Michigan and feel most at peace outdoors, especially near the water. On slower days, you’ll usually find me exploring a thrift store, hanging out at a local coffee shop, working on house projects, or spending quality time with friends and family. I’ve always loved creating cozy, meaningful spaces. Whether through warm conversation, shared meals, or thoughtful details, hospitality is a natural part of who I am

and it shapes the way I care for couples here at The Veil!

It’s a gift to witness what the Lord is doing through this venue! I look forward to welcoming you, hearing your story, and celebrating with you as you step into this beautiful new beginning!

A huge thank you to the incredibly skilled friends and family that have taken part in this exciting endeavor!
